Solutions Signs Nextel Communications as a Provider to its Leveraged
Sourcing Network Consortium Communications Company to Provide Wireless Products and Services to Member Companies at Pre-Negotiated Rates PLANO, Texas (April 1, 2003) A.T. Kearney, the global management consulting subsidiary of EDS today announced that Nextel Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTL), a leading provider of fully integrated digital wireless communications, will provide wireless communication products and services to Leveraged Sourcing Network (LSN), an A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions managed purchasing consortium. LSN chose Nextel because of its enterprise applications, in-building coverage solutions, advanced Direct ConnectSM technology, and high-touch customer service for business. A second wireless communications supplier is expected to be named in the future, providing members a choice based on specific coverage, technology, network and enterprise needs. A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions offers category management services that benefit clients in three primary ways: (1) through LSN, a consortium of Global 1000 companies representing multiple industries, where in return for an annual fee members receive significant financial benefit through pre-negotiated frame agreements; (2) through accelerated category sourcing services for clients with unique category requirements; and (3) by outsourcing category management for non-strategic indirect categories, enabling members to focus on core competencies.
