eBreviate Receives 2001 Volkswagen
Group Award
eBreviate, an Integral Part of A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions,
Honored as an Innovator
PLANO, Texas (July 15, 2002) A.T. Kearney, the global management
consulting subsidiary of EDS, today announced eBreviate was honored
with the 2001 Volkswagen Group Award for supplier achievement.
eBreviate, a leading provider of eSourcing technology founded within
A.T. Kearney in 1999, was integrated into A.T. Kearney Procurement
Solutions in December 2001.
The Volkswagen Group Award honors the world's best suppliers for
Volkswagen Group. The award focuses on deep supplier partnerships
that reward a supplier's comprehensive effort toward superior quality
management objectives.
Chosen from a list of over 6,500 Volkswagen Group suppliers, eBreviate
was honored for excellence in entrepreneurial performance. Specifically,
winners in that category were recognized due to their innovation
capabilities in terms of cost optimization and process improvements.
eBreviate was the
sole technology company and the only U.S.-headquartered company
to be honored by VW Group.
eBreviate has delivered the highest level of customer service
to us at Volkswagen and we have been successfully utilizing the
technology since 2000. I was pleased to nominate them for the
award, stated Meike-Uta Hansen, head of B2B auctions at Volkswagen.
They have customized their technology to fit the processes
and culture of Volkswagen to ensure our joint success. To this day,
eBreviate is the only B2B software company to ever win this award.
eBreviate has enjoyed a long-term, significant relationship
with Volkswagen, said Luke Saban, A.T. Kearney Procurement
Solution's chief operating officer. We are delighted to be
chosen as one of their top suppliers.
The Volkswagen Group Award, now in its 10th year, was presented
at an awards banquet held at VW Group's Transparent Factory in Dresden,
Germany. Twenty-four other companies joined eBreviate as top suppliers.
Dr. Bernd Pischetsrieder, chairman of the Board of Management of
Volkswagen, praised the top suppliers. All winners of the
award have clearly shown what is possible and what holistic quality
management means. Their competence has set new and impressive standards
on the road to perfection.
In 2001, the total value of goods and services purchased by the
Volkswagen Group amounted to 59.6 billion Euros. The Group, with
its Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, SEAT, Skoda,
Volkswagen and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle brands, was one of
the world's largest private-sector purchasers.
