A.T. Kearney eSourcing Unit Expands
European Presence
eBreviate Appoints Manager for Central Europe and Opens Office
in Dusseldorf
PLANO, Texas (January 28, 2002) A.T. Kearney, the global management
consulting subsidiary of EDS, today announced eBreviate, its eSourcing
unit, has expanded its European presence by appointing Frank Thewihsen
as general manager for central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland
and Eastern Europe). Thewihsen will be based in eBreviate's new
office in Dusseldorf.
"eSourcing adoption in the European marketplace now outpaces
the United States, representing eBreviate's largest growth opportunity,"
said Luke Saban, eBreviate's chief operating officer. "We have
augmented resources for our European team to address this increased
demand. We are
pleased to engage German native Frank Thewihsen to lead these efforts
as he brings significant global procurement and management experience.
Along with his appointment, we have opened an office in Dusseldorf
to complement our other European offices in London and Paris."
Thewihsen joins eBreviate from Impresse, where he was the managing
director of Central Europe. With regional responsibility, Thewihsen
built the sales operations to target the top 100 companies in that
area. Prior to Impresse, Thewihsen was the managing director of
Xeikon overseeing 30 employees with revenue responsibility in excess
of €20 million.
"I am excited to grow eSourcing adoption throughout Central
Europe. We have seen Volkswagen become an international eSourcing
leader driving over 20 percent of its spend or €13.6 billion
through eBreviate's Internet Negotiations. There is significant
opportunity in this region for eBreviate to deliver exceptional
results to an even greater number of companies," said Thewihsen.
"I am pleased to be associated with eBreviate, which is the
leader in this market."
eBreviate captured the European eSourcing market leadership in 2001.
Volkswagen, in Wolfsburg, Germany, has utilized eBreviate technology
to complete more than 600 auctions addressing 20 percent of its
spend. Combining these results with eBreviate's other European customers,
firms across the continent have transacted over €20 billion
and saved between 1020 percent using eBreviate's technologies.
Thewihsen joins eBreviate's other European leaders, Nicky Valmas
in the London office and Julian Howe in the Paris office, and reports
to Andrew Bermejo, director of European sales.
eBreviate is part of A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions, which combines
a portfolio of synergistic, technology-based businesses of A.T.
Kearney related to procurement and strategic supply management.
