A.T. Kearney eSourcing Unit Unveils
New Integrated Online RFP and Auction Tools
eBreviate's RFP v2.1 and Auction v4.1 Reduce Time to Auction
by Up to 33 Percent
PLANO, Texas (January 9, 2002) A.T. Kearney, the global management
consulting subsidiary of EDS, today announced eBreviate, its eSourcing
unit, released its first integrated online auction and request for
proposal (RFP) software tool.
By integrating the two processes, the tool promises to reduce the
setup time for online auctions by 33 percent, enabling quicker bidder
and seller responses and decreased costs.
The "Export to Auction" function in eBreviate's RFP v2.1
moves supplier responses directly into the Auction v4.1 application,
which employs an Import Wizard to facilitate data transfer and complete
the auction setup.
"Customers are now able to take advantage of integrated and
complete eSourcing capabilities leaving more time for such value-added
functions as conducting additional auctions," said Carrie Ericson,
eBreviate's vice president of global operations. "Our research
reveals that the average customer cost savings from using RFP and
auction tools together is generally 30 percent greater than the
savings available from using either the RFP or auction tools separately."
RFP v2.1 and Auction v4.1 Features
RFP v2.1 also includes a new library management function to allow
users to store template surveys for reuse. In addition, customers
with access to eBreviate's Supply Market Solutions tool can view
and copy best-in-class RFPs archived in the library. Features of
RFP v2.1 also include outbound customizable email functions, file
upload capabilities for survey respondents and enhanced evaluation
capabilities.
The new Auction v4.1 includes enhanced copy functionality to enable
an auction to be copied and edited without affecting the original
setup, thus allowing the creation and reuse of auction templates.
Auction v4.1 also features enhanced cross-category capabilities
for more sophisticated total-cost weighting and evaluation. The
tool includes improved user interface capabilities, reporting and
auction control functions. In addition to German, French and Spanish,
its multi-lingual capabilities
now include Portuguese.
