A. T. Kearney eSourcing Unit Records Record-Breaking November

eBreviate Signs 100th Customer, Expands Global Reach and Achieves Largest Customer Procurement Savings in Single Month

Plano, Texas (December 19, 2001) A.T. Kearney, the global management consulting subsidiary of EDS, today announced that eBreviate, its eSourcing unit, recorded its most successful month ever. In November, eBreviate signed more new business, more new global contracts and delivered more
cost savings to clients than in any month since its inception in January 2000.

eBreviate is part of A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions, which includes the non-consulting businesses of A.T. Kearney related to procurement and strategic supply management.

New customers move eBreviate past the 100-customer milestone
eBreviate closed contracts with an estimated aggregate annual value of over $4.6 million. Among them were competitive contracts, terms of which were not disclosed, with three major U.S.-based Fortune 500 companies: one of the world's largest computer equipment manufacturers, a global wireless and broadband communications manufacturer, and a prominent U.S. commercial banking institution.

These annual contracts tap eBreviate's best-in-breed enterprise procurement and sourcing tools, including Sourcing Management Technologies, Supply Market Solutions, eSourcing Management and the company's flagship online Auction and RFP technologies. They comprise three of the seven largest contracts in eBreviate's history. The new accounts move the company's customer base to 101, enabling eBreviate to reach this milestone more quickly than any other eSourcing company.

"Adoption and mandated implementation of eSourcing solutions by world-class enterprises is reaching an inflection point in market acceptance", said Luke Saban, chief operating officer of
eBreviate. "The market is starting to realize its potential, and these new contracts indicate a growing preference for eBreviate technology."

Significant Global Expansion in November
In addition, eBreviate closed three contracts with non-U.S. based companies: Aquanima, based in Spain; ProcuraDigital, operating throughout Latin America; and a major Japanese financial institution. Aquanima, the leading procurement service provider in Southern Europe, and ProcuraDigital, the leading procurement service provider in Latin America, are subsidiaries of Banco Santander Central Hispano, the second largest bank in the Euro zone.

"Our company is committed to offering its large enterprise customers the best procurement services for effective management of their strategic and non-strategic assets," said Cesar Sole, chief procurement officer of Aquanima. "Through the use of forward-thinking business technologies such as those offered by eBreviate, we are able to further build upon the value our business is based on."

The international contracts expand eBreviate's reach into Europe, throughout Latin America and around the Pacific Rim. To date, eBreviate’s non-U.S. negotiations have topped $6.7 billion with customer savings averaging 17 percent, solidifying eBreviate's eSourcing global market leadership.

Greatest Average Monthly Customer Savings Achieved
Average customer savings delivered by eBreviate applications reached a new record of 20.7 percent in November, exceeding eBreviate's industry leading overall average savings of 14.5 percent.

"This statistic shows eBreviate's contribution to a company’s bottom-line and CEO's understand this," said Tom Slaight, president of eBreviate and an A.T. Kearney vice president. "During economic down-turns, it is more important than ever to implement eSourcing initiatives and lock-in well-negotiated, long-term contracts. CEO's recognize that a nearly 21 percent average savings is a significant contribution to shareholder value, and the mandate to the enterprise is clear."
