eBreviate Unveils Web-based RFP Version 2.0
New Software Package Offers Complete Survey and Management Tools,
Complex Price Analysis, Supplier Evaluation and Multi-Language Support
Into Electronic Solution
eSourcing Tool Also Enables Rapid Self-Service Development
WALNUT CREEK, California (September 11, 2001) eBreviate,
an EDS company offering the market-leading suite of eSourcing tools,
technologies and services, today announced the availability of its
Web-based RFP Version 2.0 software package.
Featuring complete self-service functionality, RFP Version 2.0 enables
corporate procurement professionals to quickly develop customized
online supplier surveys and proposal requests, manage distribution
and communicate simultaneously with all bidding suppliers. It also
enables
them to efficiently evaluate and quantify responses and easily transfer
initial bids into an online auction.
"eBreviate's upgraded RFP technology enables today's global
enterprise to quickly engage worldwide suppliers in a specific dialogue
about the products, services and terms offered," said Tom Slaight,
eBreviate co-founder and president. "By automating the cumbersome
number crunching, contact management and tracking aspects of the
RFP process, procurement professionals are able to concentrate on
the more strategic aspects of eSourcing."
Since its introduction in 2000, eBreviate's RFP technology has enabled
nearly $500 million of baseline spend for more than 20 corporations
worldwide, resulting in an average savings of nearly 10 percent.
How it Works
eBreviate's Web-based RFP 2.0 tool streamlines the arduous process
of developing and responding to an RFP by creating a secure online
environment, in English, French, Spanish and German languages. Buyers
are able to create surveys using any combination of open-ended or
multiple-choice questions, formatted text for instructions or terms
and conditions, downloadable files for specifications or drawing
documents and pricing tables with monetary or non-monetary bid components.
Once a survey is created buyers are able to issue invitations to
suppliers to complete the survey, track status of responses and
use the evaluation and reporting functionality to analyze qualitative
responses and pricing bids. An invited supplier is able to view
the RFP online, securely collaborate with colleagues, simultaneously
respond to different parts of the RFP and access and save a response
multiple times before final submission. Buyers can use comprehensive
pricing analysis capabilities to allow more effective qualification
of suppliers and can directly export survey submissions for additional
live or online negotiations.
